“I moved here from New York and didn’t know anyone in the area. I chose CrossFit 203 because of the amazingly supportive and friendly environment. Everyone was so welcoming and instantly made me feel part of the 203 Family.”

Lisa Curtis

Coach, CrossFit 203

Lisa Curtis

Lisa, a high school biology teacher, joined the CrossFit community in 2012. Growing up, Lisa was an avid soccer player. Her love affair with sports continued in college as a member of UConn’s club soccer team. After graduating, Lisa longed for the camaraderie and sense of purpose she felt while playing soccer…and eventually found CrossFit!

Lisa earned her Level 1 Certification in February of 2017 and completed her internship at 203 under the leadership and guidance of Coach Melissa.

As a coach, Lisa’s goal is to ensure that every member gets that same experience and works towards his or her goals in a positive, enthusiastic, and safe environment. “So many people are intimidated by CrossFit and think ‘I could never do that’ or ‘I’m not in good enough shape to start CrossFit’ ” said Lisa. “What most people don’t realize is that any workout can be scaled or modified to fit their individual needs. The workouts will challenge you and you will break a sweat…but you will feel so empowered when you are done!”

When Lisa is not at 203, she loves to run, mountain bike, swim, and kick around that soccer ball!
