November kicks off our first month in our year-long 10-year Anniversary Celebration! We have dedicated this month to GIVING. We have two opportunities for our community to band together to help others in need.
The first is one that we have done in the past. We will be collecting gently used coats, as well as new hats, mittens, and socks. These will be handed out to those in need in downtown Danbury on Thanksgiving morning. This has been a tradition Dallas has been involved in for many years, and we are so happy to help him out. We will have a donation box starting next week to collect all items. They will be dropped off to him Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Our big fundraiser will be held Saturday, November 30th. We have chosen to raise funds to help support Danbury Youth Services. DYS is a private non profit agency with a mission to strengthen youth by supporting and fostering hope alongside teaching skills necessary to lead productive lives. They provide counseling, family support, youth development, and work experience to at risk and vulnerable youth at little to no cost to them and their families.
The fundraiser will feature a workout (of course) and we invite anyone from the community to attend! Donations can be made that day or in the days leading up to the 30th. We will hold a raffle, sell tee shirts, and host a silent auction! All proceeds will go directly to support DYS. If you or a friend/family members have anything they would like to donate for auction please contact Melissa in the coming week!
The more people the better, so be sure to mark your calendars! #strengthincommunity #10yearsof203
